Business Workshop: Introduction to Business and Commerce Related Fields

This workshop went over different careers one can pursue with a bachelor of commerce degree including investment banking/finance, accounting, and consulting. For this workshop, we partnered up with JA British Columbia who were our special guest speaks to talk about business career path as entrepreneurship. This workshop also provided a fun and interactive business case competition.

Health Science Workshop: Introduction to Medicine and Healthcare Fields

This workshop explored different path from high school and beyond for careers inn healthcare including medicine, nursing, dentistry, and pharmacy. We also offered interactive activities that demonstrated how to use a stethoscope and measure vitals.

Engineering Workshop: Introduction to Engineering and Engineering Projects

This workshop explored different types of career one can pursue with an engineering degree with UBC AgroBot team. Additionally, the engineering design teams from UBC showcased what they were working on and guided the attendees in completing a small engineering project such as building an item sorter with an Arduino kit.

Diversity in STEM

Diversity in STEM workshop featured a speaker series with graduate students, medical students, and professionals in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematic academic disciplines. Our speakers themselves are immigrants/refugees and prepared to share how they were able to overcome the barriers that newcomers often have to face to succeed in reaching their STEM career goals.
