Lab Science Workshop: Introduction to Scientific Fields, Research, and Experiments
September 23rd, 2022

This workshop provided a glimpse into different scientific fields and the path to getting into graduate school, masters, and PhD programs. We offered to participants the opportunity to conduct a simple chemistry experiment under supervision of our mentors.

Law Workshop: Introduction to Law Fields
September 16th, 2022

This workshop provided information on how to pursue a law degree and become a lawyer, as well as presenting various career paths in Economics, Law and Political Science. We offered to the participants the opportunity to participate and listen to a mock trail.

Business Workshop: Introduction to Business and Commerce Related Fields
September 9th, 2022

This workshop went over different careers one can pursue with a bachelor of commerce degree including investment banking/finance, accounting, and consulting. For this workshop, we partnered up with JA British Columbia who were our special guest speaks to talk about business career path as entrepreneurship. This workshop also provided a fun and interactive business case competition.

Health Science Workshop: Introduction to Medicine and Healthcare Fields
September 2nd, 2022

This workshop explored different path from high school and beyond for careers inn healthcare including medicine, nursing, dentistry, and pharmacy. We also offered interactive activities that demonstrated how to use a stethoscope and measure vitals.

Engineering Workshop: Introduction to Engineering and Engineering Projects
August 26th, 2022

This workshop explored different types of career one can pursue with an engineering degree with UBC AgroBot team. Additionally, the engineering design teams from UBC showcased what they were working on and guided the attendees in completing a small engineering project such as building an item sorter with an Arduino kit.

Computer Science Workshop: Introduction to Coding and Computer Science
August 19th, 2022

Teaming up with The C.O.D.E. Initiative, we provided a computer Science Workshop that explored the path to pursuing a career in computer science which will be followed an interactive activity. Attendees were offered the opportunity to create and develop a small website design programming project.

Diversity in STEM
May 26th, 2022

Diversity in STEM workshop featured a speaker series with graduate students, medical students, and professionals in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematic academic disciplines. Our speakers themselves are immigrants/refugees and prepared to share how they were able to overcome the barriers that newcomers often have to face to succeed in reaching their STEM career goals.

Life After High School: Post Secondary Preparation Workshop

This workshop provided information on post-secondary preparation and more academic advises for high schoolers. It primarily tackled finances in post-secondary school, volunteering/working as a student, and mental health.
